Albion Armorers Regent

This sword is made in the style of 15th century cut-and-thrust longswords. Its blade, categorized as
Type XVIIIa according to
Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword, tapers to a strong point while retaining enough width for effective cuts. It has a pronounced mid-rib due to hollow-grinding, which produces a stiff blade for powerful thrusts that does not sacrifice cutting ability. The hollow-grind does not go all the way to the edge; rather, it terminates about .15" from the edge, allowing for a period-correct reinforcement of the edge.
The pommel is shaped like a fishtail, a variant of Oakeshott's Type V. The octagonal guard flares slightly in width from its center. Simple straight lines serve as effective decoration, from the incised lines on the guard to the line that extends from the blade's mid-rib through the guard's and grip's peaks before splitting off in a V at the pommel.
The grip is of hock-bottle shape and is six-sided. It features cord risers at either end and at its waist and is covered in dark blue leather.
