Albion Armorers Baron
Original: 13th - 14th century
This imposing great sword is patterned after several original
Type XIIa swords. The style dates from the late 13th and early 14th century. The wide blade is well suited for cutting, but tapers to enough of a point that it would be suited for thrusting as well.
Albion makes this with a blade of 1075 steel. The wide fuller extends roughly two-thirds of the blade's length. The cross is octagonal in cross-section. The pommel has a steeply raised disc in the center with a cross potent on its face. The grip is stabilized birch, wrapped with cord and black calfskin.
This sword has Albion's basic
Campaign Line scabbard, with thin leather over a wooden core, finished off with a simple U-shaped steel shape.
