CAS Iberia Lowlander Great Sword
Original: Late 16th century Europe
This massive two-handed sword has long, gracefully curving quillons with acorn-shaped finials, two large ring guards each filled with a typically-Scottish decorative quatrefoil, and a hollow flattened globe-shaped pommel. The wooden grip is first wrapped in thin leather and then again by criss-crossed leather strips with decorative tacks at the intersections. The very wide blade has a short, deep fuller starting at the of end the unsharpened ricasso area.
