Resembling 17th designs, this factory-made prototype transforms from a standard parrying dagger into a sword catcher. With a pull of a button, the spring-loaded side pieces of the split blade fly open and are held tight by grooves cut into the quillons.

Faceted pommel; two-color wire-wraped grip; downward reaching quillons; side ring.

Has a black leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel fittings.
Overall length: 17.5"
Width of guard: 4.625"
Blade: 11.75" long; 1.125" wide tapering to .5"
Grip and pommel: 5.25"
