Arms & Armor Custom Stibbert Rapier
Original: 17th century
Inspired by a beautiful piece found in the Museo Stibbert
in Italy, this rapier was custom made for me by Arms & Armor of Minnesota. The original is a beautiful example of elegance married to deadliness that is characteristic of the Italian style of fencing. The modern version is a beautiful example of the amazing craftsmanship and quality of the Arms & Armor team. The blade was made to fit my rather tall proportions, and even has the nice personal touch of having my initials engraved on the ricasso in my very own handwriting.
The sword is no lightweight, but neither is it clumsy. It is very well balanced and the tip moves deftly and with subtlety. It is blunt, and I used it regularly in practice.
