First of all, let me say hello. I have been reading the forums for a bit now and find them to be truly fascinating. I hope my queries won't seem too tedious to those of you that are old timers and have probably heard the questions many times before.
I am interested in viking swords (well, all swords really...) and I have read here that you don't grip them in a "ham fisted" fashion. I read in one place a reference to looping the little finger over the pommel lobe, and another that said something about having the grip flat to the palm.
Could someone clarify somewhat for me how it is most effective (or authentic) to grip the hilt of this type of sword?
Many thanks,
Allen
