Albion Armorers Next Generation Regent Sword

This is my second Albion Regent I've owned. I had to sell the first to pay for some outstanding bills. I was fortunate enough to replace it, but now I need to sell it again. This site's annual hosting bill is approaching in a few weeks and, despite the generous donations by our members, I've got a hefty chunk of it to I have to pay. This sale should do the job.

In my opinion, this is one of the finest production swords available on the market today. By all accounts, it has the quality and appearance of a completely custom sword. Fact is, the fit, finish, and level of research that went into this sword all exceed most custom swords on the market.

The Regent (Oakeshott Type XVIIIb)
Germanic — Mid to Late 15th Century

This sword has a blade typically classified as an Oakeshott Type XVIIIb, featuring a wide profile suitable for cutting while having an extremely acute point for the thrust. The grip, black leather wrapped over finely wrapped cord, is hexagonal in cross-section with a waisted area mid-way through its length.

The pommel is an Oakeshott Type V, or fishtail variant, and the cross-guard has an octagonal cross-section with flared ends and incised decorative lines.

One distinctive feature of this sword is the hollow-ground blade, making for an extremely thick mid-ridge. This produces a stiff spine throughout the blade's length, keeping the sword light and much more responsive than one might expect for a sword of this size.

Blade: 37.25" long; 2" wide tapering to .5"
Grip and pommel: 10.375"
Point of Balance (PoB): 5.375" from guard

Excellent condition. Black leather grip. As-new. Never used for cutting. Only used in "dry handling". The retail price on this item is $1,100 from the maker.

The influx of donations today has made it not an absolute necessity to sell this to pay for hosting, but I still feel compelled to "chip in" as it were to pay for the other things the site brings up. Really, I'm okay selling this. We all make choices and I'm fine with this.

And so I'm going to reduce the price on this.

This sword is, honeslty, like-new.. excellent condition. I'm the second owner but you'd be hard pressed to know it didn't just leave Albion's shop.
