This Liveblade Shogyusha has had the handle wrapped by Fred Lohman in black leather with a higher grade same that was aged to a nice color before the wrap, it also has had the saya re-lacqured with the upper portion wrapped in rattan, creating an antique appearance. The blade[ 28.5"] is beefy[ 5/16"] but lightweight in feel thanks to bo-hi and a reasonable balance. Shogyusha blades are forged out of 1060 carbon steel and differentially tempered, and this one has been repolished to a much higher grade by Chris Osborne and shows a nice hamon. The tsuka [ 10.5"] is contoured and the leather ito VERY tightly wrapped . Price is $720.00 shipped and insured to most US locations , payment by Postal M.O unless you want to pay the PayPal 3% fee, buyer's choice. I bought this custom Shogyusha here at SFI and I must say the extra attention-antiqued fittings, additional blade polishing, saya work and leather tsuka wrapping combine to make this sword something special. The blade, with bo-hi and a well executed kissaki, is very sharp and will clearly make an excellent cutter, though no cutting has been done to date. ONLY a recently[ just today] commissioned custom project forces the sale. I do have pictures to forward upon request, please email for a quick response. Thanks for looking.
