Ironically, in order to buy Toby Capwell's book on English Armour 1450-1500, I have to sell this fellow. Actual brass rubbing, done with soft brass, made back when you could actually rub the brasses in UK churches, and comes from Isleham, Cambridgeshire. This is Sir Thomas Peyton, from the time of the Wars of the Roses, who died in 1484. It has been carefully cut out and put on the black background. The frame is 35" X 21".
