No, this isn't the brass-hilted one I just received. :) This is a piece I picked up in the used market to review. I'm simply out of room in my collection or I'd keep it, too. It's well-made, beautifully constructed, historically accurate, and feels great in the hand. It's absolutely classic in form.
This is based on a 14th century piece in a German museum. It's 16 1/2 inches overall, with a sturdy, sharp, single-edged blade. The grip is turned wood stained a dark red. The rondels are wood, covered with steel (the originals were wood covered with iron). This lets the rondels be thick without being too heavy, a wonderfully historic feature. It doesn't have a scabbard.
