This is a very cool sword. It's very unique in the reproduction market, both because not many others are making single-edged compound-hilted sabers of this time period, but also because of the unique qualities of this particular item. It handles very well, has very good aesthetic qualities, but I have to pay some bills so it's going on the chopping block! This one was made as a custom piece a few years ago but can be found on the ArmArt site as a catalog item. ArmArt is known to have a very long waiting list for their items, so it may be very difficult to get a new version from them. If this item is of interest to you, by all means, contact me.

Check out The Maker's Page for this item that shows photos photos of this actual sword and their comments. There is also a link in there to comments made by Angus Trim regarding this specific sword.

ArmArt Swiss Saber
Late 15th or early 16th century Switzerland/Germany

Hand-forged diamond cross-sectioned blade, single-edged and with exaggerated curvature. Wooden oval grip wrapped with brown leather. Hexagonal scent-stopper iron pommel. Upward-sloping cross-guard with double ring guards.

Overall length: 41"
Weight: 2.55 pounds
Width of guard: 8.875"
Blade: 32" long; 1.625" wide at base
Blade curvature: 2" at most extreme
Grip and pommel: 9"
Point of Balance (PoB): 4" from guard
Center of Percussion (CoP): ~21" from guard

Very good condition. I am the third owner of this item. The original owner used it for some cutting (reportedly with excellent results), but no signs of it are visible on the blade. Neither I nor the second owner have used the sword in any way. The leather grip has a "worn" look to it. (see photos) The retail price on a newly available sword from the maker (at current exchange rates) is $798 US.

ASKING PRICE: $560 shipped UPS CONUS.

I prefer PayPal. Add 3% mark-up to offset PayPal fee.

The guy backed out after telling me he'd buy it. So this is still for sale.
