Another running wolf mark on the blade of the following Scottish baskethilt.

A.1952.31.b - John Napier of Glasgow
Hilt signed IN over G speculated
to be that of John Napier of Glasgow
Culter admitted Burgess
in 1654 (died by 1694).
Silver plaque, at the base
of the knuckle plate, marked
WEK surmounted by
an Earl's coronet.
* Charles Whitelaw believed
this to be for William, Earl of Kilmarnock.
(Kilmarnock was beheaded in England
for his part in the 1745 Jacobite
Rising). Weight - 3 lbs. 2oz.
