Hello all,
A while ago I found a great link on myArmoury to an arms & armour dealer in Germany. They had (like most) a web shop, but they also had a real brick & mortar store, near Koln in Germany. The sold all kinds of re-enactment weapons, armour, mail, gambesons, etcetera. The forum post on myArmoury pointed to them for their riveted mail. Of course I totally forgot to bookmark it and now I can't find it again 
I have been hammering away at Google and the myArmoury search for hours. I've tripple-checked my bookmarks, turned my browser cache upside down and followed link after link, but I simply can't find it anymore.
Do you know the store I am speaking about? Can you post a link? It's only a two hour drive from here and since I finally have a saturday that I am free I'd like to go there.

Hi
If you are talking about the get-dressed-for-battle shop in Langenfeld (near Cologne/Düsseldorf), I have to tell you that it does not exist there anymore.... As far as I remember, they moved somewhere to the middle of germany. I own some helmets and chainmail from them, and it's really great stuff.

i have a similar problem. i usually ordered my stuff from the internet, on a website named "traditionelle-events" or something.
ah, there it is http://www.traditionelle-events.de/, but this site seems to have perished.
i remember, the contact-person was a guy named helmut vajc, which sounds somehow czech, and indeed, most of the swords came from czech republic.
unfortunately i don`t know the real names of the crafters, just abbreviations like "jk" "pal" and "pef"
does anyone know these guys ?
or maybe someone knows this crafters mark, i just photographed on my sword.

Nope, that's not it. It wasn't a big, international online vendor. It was one of those small, independent brick & mortar stores who happen to specialise in reenactment.
But, it's good to know that the GDFB showroom is closed now. We ended up going to Enschede in The Netherlands to visit Dragonheart, but we were playing with the idea of a day trip to Cologne in a few weeks to visit the mystery shop I can't find, the GDFB shop and a few museums. We'll have to change our plans

well, the weight is a good hint. the photographed piece is a 13th/14th century singlehanded sword and weighs nearly 3.5 kg.
you get tired very quickly with such a thing. but on the other hand it was just indestructible, that`s why i liked it. was still like new-made, when the swords of my comrades already looked like saws rather than swords.

That's the mark of czech swordmaker Pavel Leier... Don't know if he's still active.
