This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available
I got this in a trade quite some time ago, and to be honest, I would have no problem if no one was interested. I'd prefer to keep it as it is a stout, strong blade. I like it a LOT, and if I don't get any offers I'll probably sharpen her up sometime over the summer.
Anyway, here she is in all her glory.
OAL: 27"
Blade length: 20 7/8"
Blade width: 2 3/4"
Grip: 5"
POB: 5" from guard
COP: ~12" from guard
Weight: ~1.5-2lb according to my bathroom scale
Furniture is brass, grip is cow bone. I'm not sure what blade-steel Jim Hrisoulas usually uses. Blade is hollow-ground, double edged, and fullered. Short, fingerable ricasso. Unsharpened, unused. A few tiny specs of rust, which is nothing considering its spend nearly 2 years sitting in its sheath, unoiled. Wadding polish or WD-40 and a FINE scuff pad will bring the blade back to new.
Sheath is leather sandwich-style, hand-stitched with sinew. I don't think Jim made the scabbard, so I don't know where it came from. It's nice, though. Thick, brown leather which I've treated with mink oil. It's solid.
Like I said, I'd be perfectly happy to keep this but my interests are all over the place. I'm only interested in trades, especially since I have no way of finding a comparable item to give this a monetary value. I'd hazard a guess to be $300+.
I'm interested in another shortsword, preferably single-edged and full tang. Something utilitarian, if you know what I mean.
Also, a new or near-new Cold Steel Chisa-katana would be great. Other things I've been liking are any of John Gage's swords(though I can't find pricing on them), and the ATrim Tactical Cuttoe.
Always open to other ideas, feel free to make an offer.
And now, the part where you drool:
Thanks for looking!
