Arms & Armor German Bastard Sword

Original: c.1500 German, provenance unknown

The German Bastard Sword features furniture of a roped design which has been cast from softer tool steel. The grip is covered with stitched black leather which has been shrunk to fit with beeswax. Though termed a Bastard Sword by A&A this is, in reality, a two-handed sword.
