ATrim/Christian Fletcher Redeemer Sword
Original: Based on Boromir's sword in
The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
The ATrim/Christian Fletcher Redeemer was produced in response to the furor following release of
The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001. The blade was made by Angus Trim and is a variation of an
Oakeshott Type XVI (AT1429), with a noticeable profile taper, an acute point, and a fuller two-thirds the length of the blade. The sword is well-balanced and easily usable with one hand. It is primarily a cutter, though the blade is stiff enough for thrusting with the acute point.
The hilt furniture and grip were produced by Christian Fletcher. The pommel is a "scent stopper", an Oakeshott Type T
5 with a flattened top. The cross is a writhen Oakeshott Style 7 with a steel semi-circle reminiscent of a rain chape. The grip is of mahogany leather with a spiraled strip of leather which makes for very secure handling.
The Christian Fletcher Redeemer Scabbard is of mahogany leather, matching the grip. It features a fuller matching that of the sword along with stylized "crossed straps". The belt is attached to the scabbard via metal chapes that match the contouring on the scabbard.
This Redeemer is #4 of a limited run of 25 swords.
