The Regent is an Oakeshott Type XVIIIa, a hand-and-a-half sword of impressive design. The 1075 steel blade is hollow-ground with a distinct mid-ridge which aids in maintaining a stiff blade for the thrust. The hollow-grind is well executed on this sword with a historically accurate secondary bevel which increases the strength of the blade edges.

The pommel is a "fancy" version of the Oakeshott Type V or "fishtail". The cross is a Type 2 that is octagonal in section, gradually flaring towards the ends. The grip is hexagonal and waisted near the mid point, with risers at either end as well as the midpoint. The grip is covered in blue leather.
