Arms & Armor Bohemian Broadsword
Original: Circa 1480-1510, private collection
The Bohemian Broadsword is based on
Oakeshott sword XIIIa.6 in
Records of the Medieval Sword. It was named "Bohemian" due to the find-place and represents a "revival" of the
Type XIIIa "Grete War Sword" in the late 15th Century.
The pommel is a writhen variant of the Oakeshott Type T pommel and the cross is Style 2, also a writhen form.he blade is hexagonal in section, with a fuller that is only 9.5 inches long. This sword is a dedicated cutter and is most comfortable used with two hands, but is still usable with one.
