Del Tin 2173 Left Hand Dagger
Original: Circa 17th century
Renaissance fencing often times employed a secondary weapon to be used in the off hand, and the dagger was among the most famous to be used. This dagger was created by Del Tin based on a German original.
The sailboat guard is very protective of the hand, and it is also decorated with some very pretty relief work. The relief work is definitely cast, and in some areas the detail fades out, but for the price point it is a very attractive piece nonetheless.
This dagger had some small problems when I first received it. There were a few punctures in the steel band near the quillons, and the sail boat guard became slightly loose after its first use. Despite that, it has served very well for rapier and dagger fencing.
