Arms & Armor Custom Loop-hilt Smallsword
Original: 18th century
As far as production swords go, Arms & Armor has already broken many boundaries, but somehow this smallsword seems to show their craftsmanship at a new level. This was custom piece based on a hilt design often referred to as a loop-hilt, which A.V.B. Norman classified as a Type 109 hilt. The design is simple at a glance, but the subtle curvature and rounding of the hilt is quite elegant, and the bluing is deep and lustrous. It handles wonderfully, being incredibly light and well proportioned, with just enough blade presence to really guide the tip where it wants to go.
