Aren't those weights a little on the heavy side? It's hard for me to understand how could a sword that's 60cm long weigh 1,6kg. Could someone with a bit more knowledge about gladius weights edit those weights to be more realistic. Or am I totally wrong here?
Canīt think why they provide that figure. Could it be based on rather overbuilt bunt reenacting "swords" such as the one shown in the photoi illustrating the article?
A rather more correct weigth for a pompeii gladius would be around 650-700 grams.
