This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available

The search for my "perfect" type XIV continues and with it I would like to pass along another example that is excellent but still not quite right for me.

Up for sale is my "Classic Type XIV" from the days when Albion was selling Gus Trim's blades. It includes an early Eric McHugh scabbard (not pristine, but still very serviceable). I bought the sword used and recently sent the sword back to Gus for refurbishment. While there the blade was cleaned up/polished, resharpened, and the original pommel (which had a manufacturing defect) was replaced with a stepped wheel pommel and hex-key nut. Other than killing a shipping box with it, the blade is fresh from the recent polish job. From my few cuts with the sword, it seems to be a forgiving blade to cut with (a fairly wide COP) and definitely has some welcome blade presence. It tracked into cuts well even for one of my coworkers, having never cut with a sword before, who was getting consistent results after his second swing.

Length: 32.5"
Blade Length: 26.5"
Blade Width at Base: 2"
Grip Length: 3.75"
POB: approx. 4.5" from cross
COP: approx. 18" from cross - just past the end of the fuller

I'm basically asking what I paid for it and saving you the cost of the refurbishment - $425 shipped CONUS by your preferred carrier. PM me with any inquiries. Thanks!

Just wanted to post an update that this sword is still available. Feel free to make an offer or maybe a trade. I was thinking that if someone had an Albion first gen gladius or spatha I might be interested Happy Thanks!
