This is a great piece, but doesn't fit my collection very well: it's about 1,000 years earlier than anything else I have, and it literally doesn't fit in my storage/display cabinet. It's a Mainz-style gladius by Josh Davis of Davis Reproductions. Leaf shaped steel blade. Pommel nut and inset hilt plate are brass. The grip is maple and the rest of the hilt is walnut, all treated with Danish Oil. Comes with a great wood-core scabbard (lined with linen?) with brass fittings and leather carrying strap with handmade buckle. The strap can be rigged for right or left handed draw. It's in as-new condition and has only been used to cut a few foam noodles. The brass fittings have developed a bit of patina since the pics below were taken.
If this doesn't sell, I'll happily keep it and figure out where to put it. I don't intend to drop the price a bunch and take a huge loss.
