(Only the DBK Scabbard is up for sale. The Albion Munich Longsword is Not part of the sale)
This is a custom scabbard made by Brian Kunz from DBK-Scabbards for the Albion Munich XVIIIb Longsword.
Photos of this exact scabbard taken by Brian Kunz can be found under this link on his website: dbkcustomswords.com/custscabbs/HHAlbionMunich.html?fbclid=IwAR2PKwQOdcgdxaSyFlYPTszgrlbAjhPSgc5lHd0VfDHHD6kFGMYQ_ALcIO4
I am the second owner of this scabbard.
The scabbard was made in 2020 and features a wool lined, lacquered wooden core which is covered by oak-tanned leather and is dyed in a beautiful, rich oxblood-colour.
It has a central ridge running from the lowest belt all the way to the chape. Furthermore it features a leather carved image of a swan and highly detailed belts, which are embellished and decorated with very defined leather tooling.
Most of the buckles are made from brass. The main suspension-buckle is made from pattern-welded steel.
The chape looks subtle at first glance, however under closer examination creates the impression of being made from a pattern-weld of copper and steel. (I could be wrong about that though)

The fit of the scabbard to my Albion Munich is perfect. The sword doesnt fall out even when the scabbard is turned upside down and wiggled.
Still the blade slides in and out absolutely smoothly and easily. No force is needed.
The satisfying sound of the sword locking into the scabbard puts a smile on my face every time I sheath it.
In that context it's worth mentioning that Mr. Kunz did not have my particular sword to make the scabbard. He used his own Albion Munich to model the scabbard.
The seam running down the backside is straight and very clean, as its to be expected.
The condition of the scabbard is excellent. There is one little nick in the leather on the backside of the scabbard which is the only sign of wear detectable on the entire piece.
Otherwise it is in as-new condition.
It physically hurts me to depart from this beautiful piece of art and craftsmanship. However in the current situation I cannot financially justify owning such an expensive scabbard which is why I am looking to re-home it.
The asking price is 3300 USD. I am open to price-offers.
I have provided a couple of photos below this post. However I have taken about 40 high-resolution photos of the scabbard which I can provide upon request.
Short video-clips where I handle the scabbard can also be provided in order to gain a better idea of the overall feel and proportions of the scabbard.
Please mind that the Munich Longsword displayed on some of the photos is not part of the sale.
For additional information and mentioned photos/videos feel free to send a PM.
