As the title says I am selling my 1st Generation Albion Mainz Gladius and its custom scabbard made by Tod from Tod's Workshop.
This sword is part of the first Gladius Generation that Albion has ever produced. It was made in the early 2000s. The scabbard was most probably made around the same time.
This particular Gladius by Albion is a Mainz-Type and has a hilt made from walnut and bone. The blade is made from CK55 steel and at the time was still manufactured for Albion by Fulvio Del Tin from Italy (so I've been told by the previous owner).
Its scabbard consists of a wooden core which is covered in thick leather and furthermore embellished with copper and brass fittings.
Specs:
Blade length: 51cm
Overall length: 71cm
Weight: 951 Grams
Weight with Scabbard: 1711 Grams
Thickness: 5,5mm tapering to 3mm
Balance: 11cm in front of the hilt
The condition is very good especially considering the age of close to 20 years.
As far as the blade goes it is in excellent condition. There are no stains or rust-spots anywhere. Furthermore the edge is free of nicks or chips.
The only signs of age I can detect is a dent in the wood of the pommel and some small scratches on the scabbard. Also the scabbards fittings have darkened slightly.
Because I am not the first owner of this Gladius I dont know for what it has been used. Looking at the edge however I can presume that it probably was only used for light cutting if at all.
This sword surely is a piece of modern sword-industry history and I would like to keep it for a little longer. Unfortunately though there are still some sword-bills left to be paid which is why I have to sell my sword.
The price is 1200 USD plus shipping for the whole set. I am open for price offers.
The sword will be shipped from Germany.

Thanks for taking a look!
