For Sale: Customized SBG ko-katana / uchigatana (NL, EU)
Nagasa: 60cm (+ 2.5 cm habaki)
Tsuka: 25.5cm
Blade: T10 steel, differentially hardened.
Started out as a SBG custom katana from Sword Buyers Guide: http://sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/custom-katana.html
The blade and saya are of the original sword, the fuchi and (laquered) ito are from Namikawa Heibei, the rest was made by myself.
The tsuka core is made from tulip wood which is supposed to be similar to Japanese honoki wood (low sap content). The tsuka core was epoxy bedded to get a perfect fit with the nakago (I always use Devcon epoxy). However, this was one of my very first projects and not enough epoxy flowed into the bottom few centimeters but with a little piece of tape it's a very tight fit.
Being epoxy bedded you won't have the typical fear of a cracked tsuka core due to improper fit and therefore improper stress distribution.
Since I shortened the blade I also shortened the saya, I was planning on making a new koiguchi but never got to it.
The kissaki has your typical counter-polish, it sustained some small damage (it hit a nail in the stand that wasn't supposed to be there) and was mostly polished out but you can see some small traces.
Habaki is made of copper, kashira is made of black painted steel. Tsuba is also steel but artificially patinated (rusting, boiling in tea, repeat, etc.)
Price: 225 euro.
Sword will ship from The Netherlands but is also just short enough to be shipped internationally.
I accept Paypal and bank transfer.
If you buy this sword together with my Bugei 5160 Samurai OR Ronin Dojo Pro wakizashi I'll give free shipping inside of Europe (worth around 30-35 euro).
If you buy this sword together with both my Bugei 5160 Samurai AND Ronin Dojo Pro wakizashi I'll give you another 35 euro discount on top of the free shipping inside of Europe.
Not really interested in trades unless it's a Oakeshott type XIV/XVI/XVIa/XIIa-ish sword/blade.

Since the Bugei katana that I mentioned has now been sold I can also ship this sword together with the wakizashi internationally.
The bugei katana was to long to ship internationally so if this ko katana would have been bought together with it I wouldn't have been able to ship them internationally, that is why only shipping within Europe was included in the package deal. To make the deal even better I will include international shipping in the price if bought together with the wakizashi.
To prevent any confusion this is how it is now:
The price of the ko katana is 225 Euro.
If bought together with my wakizashi I will include international shipping and payment fees (worth around 40-50 Euro!).
I have also taken some new pictures in the meanwhile, you can see them in my photobucket album I linked in the add.

Final price drop to 200 euro's.
Buyer pays shipping, payment fees, etc.
This is as low as I'm going to go, you get a sword that is much more durably constructed than your average budget katana for half the price. With a tsuka that is epoxy bedded to the tang you'll have no worries about cracked handles.
