I'm curious about when great helm was used, it's also on of my favorite helmet. To my limited understanding, the great helm was used during the 13th-14th century, and according to Wikipedia the great helm fell out of use in late 14th century and became strictly tournament helm. Is this correct? And also was the conical top great helm a more advanced type of great helm that led to the development of visored bascinet (Sometime it's hard to tell if the manual script is showing a knight wearing conical great helm or a bascinet) and last question is when did these conical great helms fell out of use on the battlefield? Thanks.
