Hello,
because my university studies have become very expensive, I have to sell my precious Marcus Balbach Type Xa Damascus Sword. It was forged out of the patented Balbach-Damast and hardenend to 59HRC by the german Bladesmith Marcus Balbach.The blade ist very flexible, but not whippy at all. . It was hand-ground, polished, hardened and sharpened. The cross and pommel are made of C45 carbon steel, the grip is made of beech and leather.
Stats are as follows:
Length: 97,5cm
Blade length: 81,5cm
Blade width at base: 4,5cm
Distal Taper: from 4,5mm at the cross to 2,2mm at the tip
Weight: 1226 gramm
CoG: 14,5 cm from the cross
Because just the raw-forged blade did cost around 600Euros when it was last sold and over 80 hours of work went into it, I'm asking 1200Euro/1540Dollars + shipping for it. Serious price suggestions and questions are very welcome. If you want to pick it up yourself after buying it, you are also very welcome.
