That is truly lovely. How is the design on the pommel of the first sword created? It doesn't look engraved or etched even,is it some sort of paint? It looks really good.

Actually it is etched and then blackened.
It does look sort of 2 dimensional in the photo but it truly has depth in person.

Do you happen to know the meaning of this crest? It's strikingly similar to the coat of arms for my family name.
