This is a beautiful custom made reproduction small sword. I reworked this sword from one produced by the same company that made the swords for the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg. The sword has an overall length of 36". Double edged blade with brief central fuller is 29 3/4" long. Brass castings with classical cherub motifs. Grips is bound with two ropes of copper wire twisted in opposite directions to produce a herringbone effect. One rope is large than the other in keeping with the traditional French pattern. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings included. Similar original swords can be seen in Neumann's "Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" pages 127-137. Buyer to pay $10 shipping and insurance in the continental US.
