If you think I meant prostitution you've probably been looking at the screen too long. Just kidding.
The blade is 8 1/2 inches long, quality steel, and very sharp. The only negative is if you like its original mirror finish, which has acquired a gray blue patina in a few places from use.
The hilt is wood and the furniture is brass. There is a one gash on the hilt, but personally I think it gives the blade character and doesn't impede function. It is just barely visible in the pic an inch above the pommel.
The scabbard is handsewn veg tanned leather and is designed to be worn edge up horizontal, but using one loop could also be worn vertically. The belt straps are natural material, though I cannot recall whether wool or silk.
