|
|
I was looking trough the stuff me and my brother have made and collected over the last five years or so.
And I realised how much time and money we have spent on the hobby.
We don´t even use a lot of the stuff we have now, but keep on getting new and better things anyway.
The hunt for a better historical kit never end. There is always something more correct for the period of time you try to reenact.
I photographed some of the things we have and when I Browsed trough the pictures I really realised that I seeing them like this is different. Usually they are put away in a closet or in a corner where they are out of the way. It occured to me that I don´t really appriciate enough what I have.
If you have some pictures of your stuff you have collected, please post one or two here.
This Picture shows some of the things we use on different events during the summer time each year.

I think the more things you have, the more you want, and the less you appreciate what you already have.
This has happened with me and people I know a lot.

This is an early photo, now the chest is full with bayonets. I have a few swords, some longer bayonets, a yathagan... I can't get enough of these.

If you cannot be happy with what you have, you will never be happy with what you want.
Ebay is especially bad for me.There's always another great deal on something. I have to admit though, there is nothing quite like the thrill of getting a sword in the mail!
Wounds of flesh a surgeons skill may heal...
But wounded honor is only cured with steel.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.
Each of us should please his neighbor for his good ,to build him up.

I didn´t mean i don´t appreciate the things I have. It´s just that I get used to having them.
When I photographed the things in my collection I realised I have quite a nice collection.
And that I actually already have a lot of what I intended to get when starting to collect.
But the hunt for new stuff kind of make me forget that I already have a lot of nice things.
Don´t know i it makes much sense (It is hard to get my intentions right in a foreign language)
