Greetings all,

Today's question (I know I have a lot of these Happy ) is about oriental sword makers. There is an amazing number of places out there that sell "functional" blades of all types (not just oriental) and I am having difficulty determining the difference between the wall hangers from the real stuff. That is, I know to avoid stainless steel blades, but that's about where it ends as far as the asian (Japanese and Chinese) blades go. So, I am turning to you folks for a little help.
First of all, is there a glossary of terms out there? I find the array of terms used on these blades is confusing to say the least. Second, which makers/resellers are good for entry, mid, and high-end historically accurate weapons (pole-arms included)? Third, which makers should be avoided? Finally, what are things to look out for when buying these types of swords?

Thanks for your continued patience and advice! Cool Big Grin [/b]
