Every time I pick up this sword intending to sell it I put it back down with a sheepish smile. It's very cool, but I do finally need to make room for some other pieces in the pipeline. It was a very rewarding project on what was already a very nice sword--easily one of the best Windlass has offered in recent years. Compact and well-balanced, with a powerful and stiff blade. These were originally priced around $260 (shipped) and were well worth that price, in my opinion.
See Joseph Fults' review: http://www.myArmoury.com/review_ws_typeiv.html
The new price has dropped from time to time and I can no longer find the sword on MRL's site. Might be discontinued.
I got the sword because I've always liked the type and thought I could improve the looks. I think I succeeded--new grip, faceted cross, peen block, bluing, JB Weld assembly and peen (you might be able to see a bit of gray JB Weld in the bottom of the cross in the photos below--it's visible in person). It's a sweet little French sword of ca. 1380-1420 but hard to justify keeping in my late medieval German collection.
For about $40 more than the original MRL price you can get a significantly improved version, complete with the original Windlass scabbard.
$300 shipped in CONUS. Paypal preferred.
If the piece doesn't sell before it gets pushed to page 2. I'll most likely withdraw it, make a poplar scabbard core and re-post it later this year at a higher price. I welcome your questions about the piece.

Oops! I said I'd trade, then forgot to say what I'd trade for. I'm currently looking for armour projects. The Windlass/MRL gothic German sallet and breast/back are of interest, depending on sizes. Other decent breasts, especially those with fauld. Gauntlets, maybe. I can do straight trade or partial, and will throw in cash of my own to make up the difference on better-quality pieces from, say, Francois L'Archeveque, Best Armor, etc.

Is it sharpened? If so, how is it sharpened?
Also is the grey of the JBweld you mention that thin line of grey at the top of the handle?
