This is a large German book tracing the development of European war headgear from the bronze age through the 20th century, showcasing items from collections of the Museum of German History. The book is quite large, weighing nearly 4 pounds; it's over 300 pages, and is 12" tall x 9.5" wide x ~1.25" thick. The text is in German, but around 140 pages of the book show nothing but high-quality color and B&W photos. The rest of the text is well illustrated with period illustrations and line drawings. Shown below is just a little bit of what in the book. It covers headgear (helms and some hats) of every century since the Bronze Age, including the last one. It's an absolute treasure trove of pics of helmets of all eras.
The book is in outstanding shape, due to its cardboard slipcase (which could use some reinforcement around a couple edges). The dust jacket has the slightest shelfwear, but it basically flawless. The book is immaculate. Pictures are below.
