Broad-brimmed black kettle-sallet by Swedens top armourer Albert Collins of Via Armorari. Based on period artwork by Hans Hirtz and Paul Dolnstein. 800 EUR.

As stated before the helmet is based on period art by Hans Hirtz and Paul Dolnstein. This helmet-type can be seen worn by Swedish peasant soldiers; http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/download.php?id=1474 and also more exact here; http://www.uni-leipzig.de/ru/bilder/passion2/hirtz02.jpg
The helmet is also inspired by several originals in museums and has some obvious details from the 'Black-Sallet' in the Churburg armoury. Albert Collins made this "Black-kettle-sallet" come alive. It is ofcourse handforged (but not from one peice otherwise it would cost double), and also has a fully handground surface, handsewn lining and is perhapse the only helmet out there that has hand-tanned leather works.Gentes scitote,
