I have been on a trek through the mountains to El Torcal and back.

My riding companion is archeologist so we had a real treat as I had planned the route past Antequera so we took time to visit some digs. As a bonus we encountered a roman pilar!!!! in the rough on a slope riding through a dehesa where fighting bull roam free.
A bit down the 'route' an isolated pig breeding farm was every bit as medieval as possible, because it is Wink Laughing Out Loud

The picture was taken in a zone that has changed little if anything at all since the days the area was called after the siege material that was produced there for Queen Isabel to conquer the Caliphate of Granada.
In a bid to obtain funds for the siege that she expected to be long and expensive she decided to sponsor Columbus to try find an alternative to the lucrative east trade.
She signed the contract with him in Alhama, about a day horse riding on tracks that have not changed since. Great riding Exclamation
