This sword has been severely used. It has seen A LOT of mats in its time with me. However I am parting with this sword for a mere $140. Reason being? Well, not only has it been used to destroy countless numbers of tatami mats, but the cord wrap has loosened in which I cannot redo, it is actually glued..... though the glue has shifted and that's why it doesn't look that covered. Second, the very tip of the sword is slightly bent. You can't see it really, but if you run your finger across the tip, you can tell.... it in no way interferes with the swords cutting ability. Lastly, the scabbard is a piece of garbage. The metal fitting at the throat of the scabbard was already loose and out of place when I got it and the wood has cracked along the seam on the edge side. I've heard of this happening pretty frequently with this particular scabbard.
Other than that, the sword promises to be a great cutter. It is a fun sword to cut with and it does so with authority.
