This Edward III by Arms & Armor would normally interest me, but it is not in the cards this time around.

I was hoping no one would notice that. Happy I suppose my chances of getting it are gone now, as others around here can likely outbid me easily. Happy

Chad, my friend... credit cards are much like swords and guns.

Never draw yours, unless you're ready to use it in earnest! Razz

Well done, though! Assuming it is in good condition, that looks like a bargain!

Congratulations. And oh, I know the feeling about the wife and the killing thing. Laughing Out Loud

Doug and Jonathan,
I'm pretty excited about getting it. It's been on my "If I win the lotto" list for a decade. Happy Getting it so deeply discounted is the only way I could have afforded it. The sword is only about a year old and is supposed (key word) to be in "great condition" according to the seller.

Chad,

I have accidentally bought things in similar ways and so far with some well chosen words, flowers and a good try to not do it again I dare say my wife has forgiven me.
Congrats getting married. I have been married 4 years now and it is the best time of my life. We just had our first son (and child as well) last month. It makes life a bit more tricky but we are enjoying it.

Hope you enjoy your winning as well!

Randall,
Thanks! We hit our 3 year anniversary early in October. I made sure to tell my wife that I got it $400 cheaper than full price, which helped (she's a financial analyst by training so you gotta have your numbers in order Happy ). I'll probably also try to clean the bookshelf off a little bit to help offset the cost, but I try to do that anytime I buy something. I don't usually have the finances to buy something without something else having to go.

Congrats on your first child also. We have two cats at the moment, but no kids. Happy

Happy

Congrats. I didn't know you were this serious when you said you wanted that piece. More toys are a good thing.

A&A's printed catalogue was one of the first sword catalogues I ever saw, before I even had my first 14.4 external modem to connect to that new-fangled "inter-net." Happy I fell in love with that sword. I always assumed it was financially out of reach, though. It was a wish-list kind of sword: one you love but don't ever really expect to own.

If you go to eBay now and search for "rapier" and click on "highest price first", you will find a huge list of Czerny auction items. It is worth it just to save the images even if you're poor like me. Happy

Head to the "Live Auctions" section of eBay and check out the Wilkinson Auctioneers auction. Lots 1-41 are some pretty decent examples of arms and armor. Hey Bill Goodwin! There's two Mortuarys!
