I am starting a new project, a cup hilt rapier.
How thick should the metal for the cup be?
Some of the pictures i have seen look pretty thick, others, expecially peirced cup hilt look thinner.
I dont have access to the museum at the moment to check period peices.
Any help will be appreciated.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand. Psalm 149:6
