I am trying to find a photo of a reproduction or original of this weapon. I have so far only an image from Trajans (?) column and a drawing from an Osprey book. Anything anyone can direct me to would be appreciated.

There was a pretty good thread over at SFI about the rhompeia (spelling?) and someone posted a picture of their falx. I'll bet if you go over there to the ancient weapons forum and do a search for falx you will find something.

I thought so, too. Seems like it has been a couple of years since it was mentioned, though.... At least since I've noticed anything about it, anyway.

Dear Russ,

I posted the Rhomphaia thread to the SFI. There is indeed a Dacian Falx repro posted in one of the responses. Here is a quick link for those who want to take a look: http://forums.swordforum.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=296651

I collect swords and bayonets dated WWI back to the Bronze Age from the US and Europe and ancient swords and other weapons from Eurasia. I participate in many historical forums for the study of ancient history and weapons. I am happy to share what expertise I have. John Piscopo
