I'm looking for any pictures of 15th Century longsword scabbard chapes. I've seen the reproductions that Russ, Albion, and Christian have put together but I'd really like to see some original pics.

Mercier makes nice cast chapes and trys to group their products by general period. I questioned the one that looks like a strap end the first time I saw it too, but have accidentally run across a similar chape while browsing for period pictures of scabbards and suspension.

Hmmm. Maybe the first one is actually a precursor to the Landsknecht chapes.
