I don't want to whip a dead horse here, but I ran across something today that EVERYONE who EVER intends to buy a sword should see. It's a clip from a major satellite/cable 'shop from home' show that sells swords, knives, and kitchen cutlery. Now....Let me say right off the bat...I'm not a mean spirited person. I reeeeeally hope this guy was not seriously hurt....but I hope the scar will remind him of how dumb he was. The clip can be seen at Therion Arms web page, and shows this guy selling an OBVIOUSLY CHEAP Samurai sword set. Flea market special. The guy is whacking away on a hard countertop with this piece of...steel...and the blade breaks at the guard. It flips backwards and gigs this poor boob right in the side. He drops down out of sight and his co-host takes his place and FINISHES SELLING THIS CRAP! That's all I gotta say. Go see this for yourselves...Once again, I hope this fellow is okay...But this is FREAKIN' PRICELESS. Yeah....I know I'll probably catch a world of hate-mail for this...But let HE who DOESN'T laugh cast the first stone.

Okay I just wathched it and at its worst its funny and at best a fabulous public service announcement . To bad theres no way to have that running as a loop on e-bay . Think of the potential tragedy that could be avoided .

Although this has been done to death, it's worth noting that the incident happened quite some time ago. I'm quite suprised that it took as long as it did to become this apparent net wide.
There was a thread the night it happened, posted over on the knife forums.
I haven't seen the show listed lately but they have aired since.
Cheers

Well...once again, I hope the guy is okay. I was just made aware of this clip the other day,and had no idea of it before. Let's see a cable shoppers show air a clip of someone lopping a side of beef into with an Albion Crecy. Now THAT'S entertainment!!!

Yup, he survived just fine and was back the next week. The incident occurred in July of 2001.
I.ve not caught the show this year but they were still in business a few months ago. I think it usually ran Friday nights.
