What information should be provided with the submission?

Also does the sword need to be purchased from CF?

Thanks

Can't help you with the first question, but if you look at the customer submitted gallery, you'll see plenty of swords that didn't come from Christian. In fact, the sword he shows on the homepage for the Annual Dog Days contest is Patrick Kelly's sword by Vince Evans.

He also said that there's no limit to submissions by an individual. :-) I'm planning on flooding a lot of pictures into this contest later this month myself. :-)

Time to get artistic on you all. ;-)

Chad,
You should submit one of your pics of your A&A rondel dagger with your Lewis Moore gauntlets.

I probably will, actually, though I think you have to include a sword. The Sempach fits with the whole group anyway. Happy I was thinking I have several group shots I could put together with different themes. I'll probably do a photoshoot or three this weekend. Could be fun. Happy

Happy

I sent in a couple of photos this evening. I had to send my camera off for repair. I might throw in a few more if I get it back in time.

Well, maybe I will try a picture just for grins, but I am really interested in spectating. Considering the many beautiful photographs I have seen in myArmoury I know this is going to be nothing less than magnificent!

Anxiously Awaiting!

This contest sounds like fun. If only I had my camera - it's off in the mountains of New Mexico on a camping trip with my son. I wonder if it will still work when it returns....

Not necessarily........... Last year's winner won on votes, I think for the very reason that most voters got a charge out of a little gal cutting. The photo was ok, but it was the subject as much as anything else.......

If my memory serves me right, Patrick K got a lot of votes too.....

The quality of the photo is important, but the when it gets to the voters, its what ever tickles the voters..........

Gus is right. When it comes right down to it the quality of the photo isn't the deciding factor. It really boils down to the fact that people vote for their friends on an emotional level. If it was based on quality and composition the winning photo wouldn't have done so. That's not a criticism, just the reality. Ultimately the fun is just in participating and seeing what peope come up with. In the end Bob you have as good a chance as anyone!

Hi Bob

Think in terms of what might be of "human interest", or "cute". I think that two of the last three winners got votes for both of the above........

At the end of it, its a vote thing....... The community's big enough that I doubt that individual popularity {or friendships if you will} will be that big a factor. What will, is what gets someone's interest, or makes someone smile, or hits that warm and fuzzy button..... I think that the photo has to be pretty fair quality, but its the subject that will decide things at the end........

Not to give any ideas or anything, but I saw a photo of a kitten with a paw on a sword a few years ago, and I'd have a tough time not voting for something like that..............A chubby guy pointing a sword at a point in the far distance, probably not going to be the great vote getter that, say a smiling baby with a sword in its lap might.........
