The History Channel is running a series called "Lost Worlds". The fist episode I have seen features the Templars (and no, it is not conspiracy theory laden). The show follows David Nicolle (author of a plethora of books for Osprey, among others) as he searches for the remains of the Templar castle in the city they knew as Tortosa. Dr. Nicolle explains the functions of the defences of the castle at Tortosa, and the show's other experts further outline the designs and functions of the Templar castles in the Holy Land. Other fun footage includes the firing of a trebuchet that appears to be located at Warwick castle. Computer graphics help the viewer to envision the city of Tortosa and various castles as they would have appeared during the Templar's rule. I recommend this particular episode of "Lost Worlds" as it is one of the few programs on the Templars that does not exploit the popularity of "The DaVinci Code".
Has anyone else seen this episode? What did you think?
