Today I picked up a package from the post office. Inside were my A&A Italian and Two-ring rapiers with the scabbards, hanger and belt Russ Ellis of Tritonworks Custom Works made for them.

I'll let pictures do most of the talking. The leather coverings over the scabbard cores are tight and well-fitting. The wire wraps you can see are also tight--not a bit of slack in them. The stitches up the backside do wander a tiny bit from side to side, but that's in back where they can't be seen and I see no problem with that.

At first I thought Russ had misplaced the holes for the belt because they just didn't work for me. Then I realized someone living in Alabama wouldn't take into account North Dakota winters. I was in the garage since with the work lights that was where I'd get the best lighting for pictures. I had been blowing snow before I went to the post office and besides a set of regular clothes I was still wearing insulated coveralls and a heavy coat. Once I took the coat off the belt worked just fine.

For a good scabbard at a good price, I recommend Russ and Tritonworks. I'm already on his list for more scabbards.

Here's a view of both scabbards, the hanger and the belt.

Here's a close-up of the decorative leaf near the throat of the Italian's scabbard.

And here's a close-up of the lion's head on the Two-Ring's scabbard.
