Hi
I'm pondering on puting together a byzantian/ Varangian guard kit...
Does anyone have any actual pictures of byzantian weapons, from around year 1000? (990-1100)

Elling,
I don't know if this will help at all, but this link has some modern kit photos that may be of some help.

I know you're probably looking for historical examples but this at least may give you an idea of where you might be headed.

thanks. But I already know roughly what they look like.
What I'm wondering about is what the blades are like; shape, fullers, and the all that stuff...
