Douglas -

I am assuming you are asking for a period way?

http://www.elizabethancostume.net/dyes/ Here are quite a few period manuals on the subject, though I must say that there are no examples of dying green for cloth that I see, only wood, horn or bone. I am not sure why.

From secondary sources I am made to understand that green was achieved by first dying a blue using woad or indigo, then it was overdyed with a yellow, of which there are a ton of ways to make a yellow.

Of course, if you're looking for a modern way, Drit dye is readily available in most grocery stores.

Hope this helps!
Jess
