I know threads here focus on the western sword world, but there is a major Japanese sword show in Chicago on the weekend of May 5, 6 and 7. Generally the sword is reserved for nihonto although you'll sometimes see some other things here and there. It is in a large ballroom filled with tables with stuff ranging from fittings to wwII mass produced swords up to swords that cost as much as a house. The NBTHK usually puts on a good display of amazing swords on Saturday and there will often be a lecture or two including one on etiquette and handling.
Come on by. I'll be there with a table along with my friend Ted. I'll even make a little sign saying "moderntosho" and leave it on the table. Come by and introduce yourself. And if you're too intimidated to look at things, come by, get me, and I'll walk you around and make you look at good things...
Chicago Sheraton Northwest, Arlington Heights.

Thanks for the invite Keith Sadly there's no way I'm going to make it but it did get me thinking... would I recognize Keith if I saw him? The answer is "NO!" Weird, I think pictures of you on the internet are even rarer then pictures of me. I did go check out your site Keith, it's the first time I've done that in a long while. All I can say is... wow. I remember 6 or 7 years ago when you were still asking Motoyasu (don't even remember his real name now) questions online. Now this:
