Modern made WWII Era Chinese style war sword through big bottle.

And here's another night-cutting video where I used the spadona on upward cuts through big bottles, one of them was with the false edge.

And some downward cuts, 1 false edge on small bottle, 2 true edges on big bottles

So much fun! Big Grin

Nice! Looks similar to my Chen/Hanwei Dadao, which is one of my favorite cutters, though I'd like to have a nicer version. Have you used the Chen/Hanwei Dadao or the Cold Steel CHinese War Sword? If so, how do they compare to the version you're cutting with in the video?

Thanks Happy

It was great seeing those historical photos, Lancelot. Thanks for that. I always have fun cutting modern mediums with my swords. But I will always appreciate being able to look at pictures of men carrying the actual weapon into battle.

Haven't tried hanwei and cold steel before in cutting. Handled both though. The one I used was a lot more clumsier and heavier, being 4.5 lbs.

Lancelot,
Thanks for posting the pics. You have struck my curiosity about the Da Dao Team
Do you know of any english sites with info about the team?
I did a quick Google search and came up with nothing.

Wow! Eek! The Hanwei is listed at 2.5 lbs (but it feels lighter to me), and the Cold Steel (Fred Chen?) is listed at aroung 3.6 lbs. Happy

Wooof! Eek!
Now that is a heck of a sword.
I wonder how a falchion would compare to it in cutting.

May you live as long as you want but never want for as long as you live
